Biblio Meme

Mr. Allen tagged me for bookish fun and games. His first selection was supposed to be so simple anyone could guess it...but...um....I hadn't a clue as to what it was. Just goes to show you that I'm not as intellectual as he thinks I am....

The Rules:
  1. Pick up the nearest book.
  2. Open to page 123.
  3. Find the fifth sentence.
  4. Post the next three sentences.
  5. Tag a few people.
The book is "Desire" by Daniel Odier (in my sidebar on Amazon). I'm rereading it as one of my Tantra studies books. As page 123 is the end of a chapter, it didn't even have that many sentences. I had to make an executive decision. This was a difficult task as, yes, I'll be a whore...but not follow the rules on a Meme game? Unthinkable.

Options I considered: Put a blank space because there were only five sentences total? Cheat and find another book? Use page 122 or some other page and if the meme police checked I could just say it's a different edition?

In the end, I thought I would merely do the last three sentences.
"Through the course of the night, placed in the center of the magic diagram (yantra), where each is recognized as an incarnation of the divine Shakti-Shiva, by ritual touching of all parts of the body (nyasa), yogini and yogi, will reach the state of immobility, without any voluntary contraction but in a total abandon to the tremoring vibration in a union that lasts a whole night. When the initiator is a master, this experience can open to a rising of kundalini- in other words, to the presence of Shakti in the form of energy. Because in our school the kundalini is liberated through the opening of the heart, and not by the working of the lower chakras, it is a gentler, more spherical experience than those described by the various authors who have had the experience or describe those of others."

Did you get that?

And...who shall I pick now...???....

bad influence girl
and Madam Butterfly as she tagged me before...

Enjoy!!

I'm trying to, I just read some more on Tantra, and linked to the Chardra Bindu website through your links. I don't know yet if it's right for me, or maybe I'm looking for something more like yoga (which Tantra sounds like, right?)... Hmmm, definitly want to talk about it more with you. Going to be a couple weeks before we can do lunch, or coffee though. I'll let you know...

Cheers!

Hi, Fuse-

Tantra is a type of yoga if you take yoga to mean a practice. I try my best to explain Tantra here

And yeah...we can talk when we meet. Looking forward to that.
